Robert Semones wanted his Vans RV-8 Fastback’s scheme to draw inspiration from the factory Extra NG scheme, so we adapted that design to make it fit the airframe of the RV-8 perfectly. The silver, vibrant red, and charcoal “stretched” checkerboard piqued his interest and ours too!
This design brings this homebuilt bird to life and truly makes it look like a racing plane that is faster than light. Once our Evoke Aviation team finished up this stunning paint job, we brought it out into the sun and it instantly came to life. The way the sun dances across each color on this RV-8 makes it look like a dream.
