Van's RV-14 N825BG Custom Paint Scheme
OWNER: Sam Green
AIRCRAFT: Van’s RV-14 N825BG
PAINTED BY: Evoke Aviation
We love a good scheme with details that make the plane truly fit the owner, and this is one of those special projects! Sam Green’s Van’s RV-14 may look like a standard American themed design, but there’s more to it than what meets the eye.
Sam’s background in Naval Aviation led us to drawing inspiration from the Grumman Wildcat flown by the Navy’s first Ace of WW2, Butch O’Hare - hence the red and white striped rudder. The registration number, N825BG, is a whole story on its own from his dad’s birthdate and initials, wife’s initials, and blue and gold being the colors of the US Navy. The ghosted stars, added to the stripes, create an American flag look which makes this design pack a punch while keeping it simple and classy.
It was an honor to work with Sam on this beautiful scheme design! Our paint crew did an amazing job bringing it all to life and helping Sam get his RV back in the skies where it belongs!
