Van's RV-7A N765ER Custom Paint Scheme

From the beginning, Jeff Radtke wanted his RV-7A to be unlike anything else on the ramp. His direction was simple: “No lines. That’s too predictable.” Instead, the design was built around circles, creating an unconventional pattern that transforms across the length of the aircraft.

The effect makes the RV-7A appear to be blasting through fields of color. Soft gray at the nose breaks apart into a deep charcoal center before transitioning into vivid blue along the aft fuselage and tail. Circles of different sizes overlap, scatter, and shift in color, giving the scheme a sense of speed and movement without relying on traditional stripes or sweeping lines. The pattern continues across the wings and wheel pants, making the entire aircraft feel connected from every angle.

A custom logo on the vertical stabilizer adds another personal detail to an already unmistakable design. Bold, energetic, and completely original, this RV-7A reflects Jeff’s willingness to move beyond convention and create something that is truly his own.

We were thrilled to work with Jeff on such a creative aircraft and help bring his one-of-a-kind vision to life.
