Gaylon first approached us with an idea in mind for his home-built RV-10: a black, yellow, and silver scheme to match his sharp interior. We took his ideas to the next level to create this beautiful, modern, and unique design for him and his family. To help carry around his family’s gear, Gaylon included a MotoPOD on his airplane, which is a useful belly-pod that can be quickly attached. This attachment is perfect for anyone who needs extra cargo room, and can be found here. (The pod can also be used on Cirrus Aircraft) Our team made sure to design the scheme with the pod in mind, making sure to blend it in with the silver on the belly and lower fuselage of the aircraft.
In addition to the striking colors and accent stripes, we designed the spinner around the Hartselle 3-blade prop to have a nice matte black… a major difference from the polished one that we started with! The actual paint was applied at our facility in Alabama, Evoke Aviation. From here, we were able to deliver a finished product and ensure that Gaylon had the paint quality to match his build.
